Front of House

Server


Summary: Servers are responsible for providing knowledgeable, professional and attentive service. Your enthusiasm enhances the guest experience while you go about making suggestions and promoting menu items. You run an efficient, well organized and clean section. A server serves and sells. You must be knowledgeable about menu items, specials and promotions in order to answer the guest with confidence and enhance the guest experience. Skills and Qualifications:

  • Serving it Safe – for alcohol service is required upon hire (location specific)
  • Previous experience in a family restaurant preferred
  • Take pride in your appearance, and follow the company dress code
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to read and accurately input orders
  • Well organized, and able to work well under pressure
  • Strong work ethic and enjoy a fast pace.
  • Willing and able to be a team player and work productively with your teammates and get the job done

Host, Hostess, Greeter


Summary: You are the guest’s first impression. You will provide a friendly, prompt greeting to all guests, and they will feel welcome from the moment they enter the restaurant. A host/ess and greeter must like meeting new people, be confident about the menu, understand the flow of the restaurant, and answer questions with enthusiasm and confidence. Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous guest service experience preferred, but we will train if you are keen to learn
  • Take pride in your appearance, and follow the company dress code
  • Be confident and able to communicate with guests as they enter and leave the restaurant
  • Well organized, efficient and able to work well under pressure

Back of House

Grill Cook


Summary: You are responsible for food preparation. We start with a quality product, shipped fresh daily from our central commissary. Grill staff are responsible for the correct portioning, and preparation of this product for our guests. You will need to be well organized, have attention to detail. You must be able to read the bills, prepare multiple bills at once, and have a sense of urgency to meet the guest’s expectations. We provide you with:

Dishwasher


Summary: You are responsible for keeping dishes and kitchen pots/cooking utensils clean, sanitized and stocked for the entire restaurant. You maintain the dish room and dishwasher clean and organized throughout your shift. Ensuring that each guest is provided with clean, sanitized dish, glassware and cutlery is your responsibility. You will need to understand the different cleaning products and use them safely while you perform your duties. From time to time you may be asked to assist the kitchen on the line or to do prep as needed. Other duties will be assigned as needed. Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Operate the automatic dishwasher
  • Well organized, efficient and able to work well under pressure

Busser


Summary: You are responsible for keeping the front of the house clean and organized for the guest. Ensuring that each guest sits down to a clean, organized, table free of debris on the floor is your responsibility. Dishes must be cleared as quickly as possible following the guest leaving. Tables and booth seats are cleaned and sanitized following each visit. You will need to understand the different cleaning products and use them safely while you perform your duties. Other duties will be assigned as needed. You assist servers and dish person as required. Skills and Qualifications:

Counter and Cashier


Summary: You are the face of Sals for the guest, and will be a person who likes people and has a pleasant, friendly personality. You will be a guest focused person and work as part of the team to ensure quality food and service is delivered. You will be required to have a thorough working knowledge of menu items, all ingredients, current specials, promotions and prices in order to ensure a quality guest experience. You will assist the guest with their selection and be an “order maker” by using suggestive selling techniques. You will take pride in your appearance and follow all uniform requirements as expected. You will carry out your share of the restaurants housekeeping duties as required. Skills and Qualifications:

  • Some experience working with cash in a quick service environment or retail is preferred.
  • Guest service experience is preferred, but if you are keen to learn we will train the right person
  • Be physically fit and able to lift up to 20lbs.
  • Weekend availability is required
